Hi Todd,

Nice post.

Just to let you know, I've written a mobile plugin for wordpress that you should check out!

It retains the styling from web to mobile, so you get a consistent user experience across all platforms. Whilst the mobile plugin you're using works ok, it doesn't really look like your blog..

It also keeps the same URL for mobile and web and makes sure every device in the world works - even new handsets that haven't been released work!

Very cool. Thanks for sharing the news. In Japan too we have similar collaboration between Toyota and Microsoft to create futuristic cars.

Short answer is no. Long answer is anything is possible but you would have to get a hold of the system from another vehicle. I highly doubt Ford will just sell you the SYNC system.

Absolutely right, not to mention the other benefits of having hands free control over your phone and MP3 player no matter what the brand. I see that other manufacturers are starting to implement these systems, but no one is doing like Ford.

I know lots of people who use in car nav systems, myself included. If you had actually taken the time to read the article and watch the video you would also have seen that SYNC is not a navigation system, in fact the option for that was only introduced recently. SYNC is much more.

Well, it is not a news that Microsoft Auto - an embedded systems is extensively used in modern cars.

It would be however interesting to see how this new package would be received by car buyers. I know onel onely guy who uses navigation system just because he likes the sweet voice of the girl who directs him to his destination!

It doesnt say Old Fashioned recipe; does it? No, it is in fact an old fashioned amish treat, probably around for a fairly long time. Its not like you are really paying a huge premium for it either. so, dont complain about so much, and just enjoy it if you like it. If not, dont eat anymore of it.

The collaboration of Ford and Microsoft is much better compared to the Nokia and Renault's team up... The software (SYNC) has such features that I personally like the most and I think that such technology is a great addition to the car.

Hi Chad, I probably should have been more clear. The sync for the device data is not really an issue, that works well enough. Cable or no cable adding multimedia to the microSD card is painfully slow. It is faster to take the card out of the phone than hooking up the cable. It can take fully 20 mins to copy 2GBs to the phone through Windows Media Player.

i agree that twitter needs to catch up. esp. lately with everything breaking down! twitter can become an echo chamber if you aren't careful.

Well Peggie, I would have to say that the plurk time line takes a little getting used too but once oyu get the flow I find it is easy to move back and forth to follow the conversations. As far as getting responses to plurks that can be a bit harder, I found that it took a while to get recognized as well but once it started I had a hard time keeping up. I respond a lot more than I plurk.

I think I'm definitely missing something. Maybe I need a user manual or I'm just a different kind of thinker/learner. I can't seem to get any responses on plurk (although, admittedly maybe the way I say good morning isn't as fun as the way someone else says it?) and I get all confused on the time line.

I know I'my laying myself out on the line here, but I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I'm enjoying twhirl and get a decent amount of responses that way -- and i like the format -- it's easier for me to follow than the plurk timeline.

Please, I want to like plurk, I must be doing it wrong.
